Usage Instructions

Prior to application mix well by shaking the bottle. Do not use together with disinfectants or chemicals. Before application, we recommend to test if the product does not have any undesired effect on the cleaned surface. For easier application on shower, sink and toilet, mix Bio Cleaner with tepid water according to the instructions in the spray bottle.

Wash/shower basin, bath, ceramic tiles, mirror, glass, preparatory kitchen area, furniture:
Apply twice a week cleaning solution (1 part Bio Cleaner and 20 parts tepid water) preferably by a trigger spray, scrub with a brush or an abrasive sponge and leave to act. After 10-15 minutes rinse with water and wipe off with a dry cloth.

Toilet, urinal and surrounding floors:
Use daily. Apply nightly solution (1 part product in 4 parts tepid water), scrub with a toilet brush or an abrasive sponge and leave to act (do not rinse).

Flooring:
Apply twice a week cleaning solution (1 part Bio Cleaner and 100-200 parts tepid water) preferably by a mop and leave to act. Bio Cleaner will continue to digest dirt as the floor dries (do not rinse). On heavily soiled spots first apply cleaning solution 1:10, leave to act 5-7 minutes, then scrub with a brush and after 8-10 minutes wipe with a cloth.

Mop, sponge and other cleaning aids:
Place the cleaning aid evening after the last use into a cleaning solution (1 part Bio Cleaner and 100-200 parts tepid water) and leave to act min. 6 hours.

Garbage bins and used toilet paper bins: 
Apply cleaning solution (1 part Bio Cleaner and 4 parts tepid water) preferably by a trigger spray into the bin to wet the content every time malodor appears and leave to act.

Drain and drain line odours:
Apply nightly 25 ml to the sink /shower drain and leave to act, repeat 3-5 days.

Pet odours:
Apply solution (1 part product in 10 parts tepid water) by a trigger spray directly to the source of malodour and repeat daily until neutralised.

To ensure successful treatment, keep to the recommended dose rates and apply the Bio Cleaner on a regular basis. Tepid water temperature is 25 - 35°C.

There are lots of bacteria species that are very important for all living things on Earth. Your body is full of helpful bacteria – we could not survive without them. They grow and reproduce forming an equilibrium with you and preventing the bad bacteria to grow (restricting their resources!).
Bacteria have learnt to live anywhere and so they have learnt to eat whatever to survive. Some bacteria eat the food we eat, because they live in our mouth or digestive system. Other bacteria can eat dangerous or harmful substances (like oil) or eat anything that is decaying – decomposing dead plants and animals.
Our job was to enhance these excellent properties and through natural selection  develop bacterial strains capable to digest soil and eliminate odours much more efficiently. The result is the product Bio Cleaner our clean-up army.

Competitive Exclusion

The microorganisms in the  range of biological products work on a process called competitive exclusion. This process applies to all areas and surfaces where bad bacteria may exist such as floors, urinals, tiles, showers, waste water, etc. Bad bacteria can be dangerous for our health and are causing malodours through an insufficient degradation of organic matter.

Bad bacteria are often gram negative in nature and this type of bacteria cannot survive without a food source. The use of products adds concentrated ‘friendly’ resilient bacteria into the system. These friendly bacteria immediately start digesting the food source and growing in number they colonise the soil=food source, pipework, floor or any surface and continue the digestion process for as long as the food source exists. The waste product from these friendly bacteria is carbon dioxide and water. When the food source has been depleted, the friendly bacteria have the ability to become dormant and then re-germinate when further food becomes available.

The good bacteria take away the food source for the bad bacteria, outperform them and on this basis, the bad bacteria are quickly killed off.

Visible cleanliness: Bio Cleaner in comparison to other aggressive, chemical based, bathroom cleaning agents

The same, visible cleanliness could be achieved by cleaning with bio-enzymatic cleaners, as well as chemical based cleaners. The only difference is that our bio-enzymatic cleaners do not contain limescale removing agents, so it is necessary to get rid of limescale manually, by rubbing surfaces like water tap, or glass shower walls, with a hard sponge.

Some might be concerned how effective is cleaning without disinfectants in terms of harmful bacteria reduction. The secret is that there is no need to kill harmful bacteria with disinfectants, in order to get rid of them. Disinfection of a surface means to kill all living microorganisms – bad ones, as well as good ones. In an environment without any microorganisms, it is very easy for harmful bacteria to reproduce quickly and colonize the surface. On the other hand, if we clean the space with the help of bio-enzymatic cleaners, which consists of strong, beneficial microorganisms that have the power to consume organic dirt, leaving nothing to eat for harmful bacteria, they die out, without a chance to multiply. This way, the surface stays colonized by the beneficial microorganisms that would, thanks to hybernation, restrain the growth of pathogens on the surface. Hybernation is the ability of some  beneficial microorganisms to create spores and fall into the sleeping mode, when they run out of food they wake up and start to eat the dirt and multiply That´s when resoiling occurs. Pathogenous bacteria do not have the ability to hybernate.


Studies have been conducted to research the amount of pathogenous bacteria in hospitals, where the surfaces are cleaned with chemical disinfectants, in comparison to bio-enzymatic cleaners. The results of one of the studies revieled that after 3 – 4 weeks of cleaning only with bio-enzymatic cleaners, the amount of pathogenous bacteria on the tested surfaces reduced by 50-89%, in comparison to the sample taken from the same surfaces, cleaned by desinfectants. The study proves that from the long term perspective of fight against pathogenous bacteria in the household, office, kindergarten, or even hospital environment, it is much more effective to do so with the use of bio-enzymatic cleaners than chemical disinfectant cleaners.

Bio-enzymatic Cleaners requires longer time to clean the surface, but they are able to continue cleaning even after the time you finished cleaning the surface manually

Different periods of time are needed to leave the solution of Bio Cleaner and water act on the cleaning surface. This time is neccesary for beneficial bacteria to clean the surface effectively. This lenghty process of leaving the product to act on the surface might seem as a disadvantage, but in fact it allows the product to act and consume dirt also after we finished cleaning the surface manually. It is very helpful especially in quickly resoiling areas, like around the toilet bowl.

The tricky Role of Fragnances and Aromas in Cleaning Products

Artificial aromas were added to cleaning products to trick the consumer by a nice, fresh smell, which human brain automatically connects to clean environment. This presumption is misleading, because the fact that some public toilets smell like „ocean breeze“, doesn’t mean that they are clean. Moreover, most of the fragrances are  harmful to human health. It is proven that a long term exposure to some of the fragrances, especially when they are highly concentrated, or mixed together, leads to respiratory problems, like asthma. This scenario is happening for example by cleaning with few different cleaners (toilet cleaner, shower and sink cleaner and mirror cleaner) in a bathroom, which is not ventilated.

Bacterial Digestion of Malodours - Odour Counteractant Technology.

The number one problem in bathrooms, locker rooms, …. is odour. A foul-smelling bathroom gives the customer a perception of uncleanliness. This perception often travels behind the bathroom to give an impression that the entire establishment is not clean.
Offensive odours such as urine, feces, vomit, and those emanating from garbage are composed of many organic compounds that contribute to the overall odour intensity. Treating organic waste with our scientifically selected, non-pathogenic bacterial strains is an environmentally responsible method of accelerating the biodegradation process of malodorous compounds.
 
To combat these odour generating compounds, and reduce them in the environment, we have incorporated in our  odour reducing range of products incorporated powerful beneficial, multiple enzyme producing microorganisms strains that rapidly digest odour producing organic waste.

Urine is often the source of malodours on tile, grout, toilets, and other hard surfaces. Urea is the primary constituent of urine. Many bacteria that are naturally present of hard surfaces produce an enzyme called urease. Urease converts urea into carbon dioxide (CO2) and ammonia (NH3), Figure 1. This process releases ammonia into the atmosphere producing a bad odour. To reduce the odours, one must reduce, or eliminate, the ammonia.

With this background information, our scientists set out to develop a biologically based product to degrade urea and utilize the liberated ammonia. The first step in the development of the product was to choose the most performing bacterial strains regarding their ability to degrade urea (superior urease producers).
Having identified bacteria that can degrade urea, a study was performed to test the ability of the most promising urease producers to utilize ammonia. An increase in growth is indicative of the ability to utilize ammonia. As demonstrated in Figure 2, several of the chosen bacteria strains have the ability to utilize ammonia.

The studies described above yielded a set of bacterial strains that are superior urease producers and have the ability to utilize ammonia as a nitrogen source for cell growth. The breakdown of urine by these bacterial strains is shown in Figure 3. By consuming the ammonia liberated by the urease enzyme, these strains greatly reduce the odors associated with urine found on tile, grout, toilets, and other hard surfaces.

Another common source of malodours is volatile fatty acids. The researchers developed a screening method to quickly test the ability of various bacterial strains to degrade these odour-causing compounds. As shown in Figure 4, the strains of bacteria in our  odour reducing range of products have the ability to digest a variety of volatile organic acids associated with malodours. The result of which is a reduction of malodours released into the atmosphere.
