We invite you to review your thinking:
  • Use the power of nature instead of chemicals.
  • Use Bio-enzymatic products to remove deposits of fat, oil, grease safe for human, machine and nature
Fatty wastewater problem is everywhere, wherever food is prepared (canteens, kitchens, production of frozen food ...) as well as in the food processing industry (meat, milk, fish, oil ...). FOG (fat, oil, grease) is deposited on the walls of drains and drain lines restricting the free-flow of wastewater. To restore the flow one can use mechanical process (pressurized water), chemical process (liquefy FOGs by aggressive chemicals) or biological process (using natural microorganisms).
  • Mechanical means - expensive and time consuming (external company, order ...) and in particular the problem is only moved further down the drain line (FOGs re-deposit on the walls of downstream drains). At the same time damage in particular to older pipes is quite frequent.
  • Chemical method - using harsh chemicals - etching damages your drain lines, environment is polluted and the problem is only moved further down the drain line (FOGs re-deposit on the walls of downstream drains).
  • Biological process - Bio enzymatic process where special natural microorganisms remove FOG by digestion. Each one of these beneficial natural microorganisms eats its weight in waste every minute and transforms it into harmless water and carbon dioxide. The process is safe for humans, drain line material and environment. Nature has been using the same Bio-enzymatic process to clean water, soil and air on the planet Earth for millions of years.
Bio-enzymatic process requires more time and it is recommended to apply the product BIO GL200 regularly - to avoid slow or even clogged pipes and drains. Microorganisms attach themselves to surfaces of the drain and digest the waste. This product eliminates odour, transforming odour-causing organic matter and reduces organic pollution of the effluent (thus reduce BOD at the output). In contrast to chemical agents their effect is a long-term one (continuous treatment).
Grease trap - the product BIO GL200 breaks down and digests FOGs greatly reducing the need for grease trap pumping, it prevents odour and maintains proper operation of the grease trap.
Wet well - the product BIO GL200 breaks down and digests FOGs maintaining the pumps and walls grease free,  it prevents odour and maintains proper operation of the wet well.
Drains and Drain lines - the product BIO GL200 breaks down and digests FOGs maintaining a free flow of wastewater and reduces bad odours.

We can‘t survive without microorganisms!
There are lots of bacteria species that are very important for all living things on Earth. Your body is full of helpful bacteria – we could not survive without them. They grow and reproduce forming an equilibrium with you and preventing the bad bacteria to grow (restricting their resources!).
Bacteria have learnt to live anywhere and so they have learnt to eat whatever to survive. Some bacteria eat the food we eat, because they live in our mouth or digestive system. Other bacteria can eat dangerous or harmful substances (like oil) or eat anything that is decaying – decomposing dead plants and animals.
Our job was to enhance these excellent properties and through natural selection, develop bacterial strains capable to digest waste much more efficiently. The result is the product BIO GL200 our clean-up army.
Large numbers of our microorganisms attach themselves to surfaces of the drain line and trap (forming a preventive biofilm), as well as to any grease deposits where they continue to consume grease and organics converting them to carbon dioxide and water. Residual  biofilm of helpful microorganisms promotes continual long-lasting cleaning (contrary to chemical cleaning products).

We use the power of Nature "Bio-enzymatic" to clean and remove your dirt.

Responsibility towards your own health:
The use of disinfectants and chemical cleaning products in households is becoming a problem not only for the environment but even more for the health of humans. Our children lose the natural resistance against illnesses and on the other hand bad bacteria are becoming resistant to disinfectants and more dangerous to humans. Chemical cleaning products leave irritant unhealthy volatile residues in your living / working space and the cleaned surface might be irritant long after the cleaning. Such an environment is the cause of health problems.
The way to change this unhealthy trend is to rely on the time-proven Bio-enzymatic processes our Nature has been using (cleaning waste water, ground, air …) for millions of years.
We have created our range of products using the natural Bio-enzymatic power.

Competitive Exclusion
The microorganisms in the  range of biological products work on a process called competitive exclusion. This process applies to all areas and surfaces where bad bacteria may exist such as floors, urinals, tiles, showers, waste water, etc. Bad bacteria can be dangerous for our health and are causing malodours through an insufficient degradation of organic matter.
Bad bacteria are often gram negative in nature and this type of bacteria cannot survive without a food source. The use of    products adds concentrated ‘friendly’ resilient bacteria into the system. These friendly bacteria immediately start digesting the food source and growing in number, they colonise the soil=food source, pipework, floor or any surface and continue the digestion process for as long as the food source exists. The waste product from these friendly bacteria is carbon dioxide and water. When the food source has been depleted, the friendly bacteria have the ability to become dormant and then re-germinate when further food becomes available.
The good bacteria take away the food source for the bad bacteria, outperform them and on this basis, the bad bacteria are quickly killed off.

Sewage treatment
Is the process of removing contaminants from wastewater, primarily from household sewage. It includes physical and biological processes to remove these contaminants and produce environmentally safe effluent.

Effluent discharge charges
In some instances the Environment Agency will enforce discharge consents, where a fee is paid on the nature of the effluent. This charge is normally based on Biological Oxygen Demands (B.O.D’s. The use of finebio products reduces these charges by reducing B.O.D’s.

Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD)
Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) is one of the most common measures of pollutant organic material in water. BOD indicates the amount of putrescible organic matter present in water. Therefore, a low BOD is an indicator of good quality water, while a high BOD indicates polluted water. Dissolved oxygen (DO) is consumed by bacteria when large amounts of organic matter from sewage or other discharges are present in the water. DO is the actual amount of oxygen available in dissolved form in the water.

Our children lose the natural resistance against illness and on the other hand bad bacteria are becoming resistant to disinfectants and more dangerous to humans. We have created our range of products using the natural Bio-enzymatic power.
Bio-enzymatic products contain concentrated beneficial microorganisms that eliminate dirt/waste/odour directly at the place of origin - decompose dirt and consume it as their food.  At the same time our microorganisms eliminate odour, transforming and digesting odour-causing organic matter.
Moreover our beneficial microorganisms are much more powerful than harmful bacteria; take all the nutrients and dangerous bacteria die (everywhere is applied).

BIO GL200 - Grease Trap Treatment: A highly concentrated liquid blend of multiple bacterial spores, specifically selected to function in the grease trap environment

Grease traps are often the problem that is the most neglected and difficult to manage in institutional kitchens today. Not only are grease traps unsightly and odorous, they are inconvenient and expensive to pump and maintain. Biological products have been used for years for grease trap maintenance. These products reduced solids and odours, but did not perform well in low pH or high fat situations. Understanding these limitations, our scientists developed a product to address these concerns. After years of research, we are pleased to release this product, BIO GL200, which is specially formulated to address the types of waste found in grease traps. The following pages will describe the development of BIO GL200 and explain the technology behind the product.

Low pH Effectiveness
One major reason for grease trap failure is the inability of standard grease trap products to function at low pH. By testing grease traps in the field, and interviewing our customers and grease trap pumpers, we found the majority of traps to have a pH of 4.5 - 6. With this information we tested the ability of the bacteria in standard grease trap products to function at a worst case pH of 4.25. Not surprisingly, we found that standard products were not capable of functioning at this low pH.
To develop a product that functions in the low pH of a grease trap, bacteria were isolated from low pH environments such as pine forests and cranberry bogs, where nature has already selected strains that are capable of functioning at low pH. The result was the isolation, selection and development of two Bacillus strains that grow, degrade waste, and reduce odors at pH 4.25. These strains are included in BIO GL200. As shown in Figure 1, these strains significantly improve the efficacy of our products over the competition.

Superior Fat Digestion
Using a similar bacterial selection system, new bacterial strains capable of digesting high levels of Fat, Oil, and Grease (FOG) were isolated. These superior lipase producers not only degrade short chain fat molecules commonly degraded by the bacteria in most grease trap products, but also the more difficult to digest long chain fat molecules that are major contributors to FOG accumulation in the trap. Further testing of these new strains revealed the production of a bio surfactant, which helps to increase the bioavailability of the FOG as a microbial food source.
The isolation of these superior fat degrading strains prompted a study to investigate the ability of the bacteria in grease trap treatment to degrade Crisco (vegetable shortening). The study was performed utilizing a minimal medium with Crisco as the carbon source. The study was performed at pH 4.3 to mimic the conditions in a grease trap. Two fully formulated (surfactant containing) commercially available grease trap products were included in the study for comparison. Our grease trap treatment did not contain surfactant. As demonstrated in Figure 2, treatment with BIO GL200 showed a significant improvement over the competitor’s commercially available grease traps products, even without the addition of surfactant.

Odor Reduction
Having addressed low pH activity and FOG degradation, the next task was odour reduction. The odours associated with grease traps are often caused by volatile fatty acids (VFAs). As shown in Table 1, the seven strains blend in BIO GL200 has the ability to degrade all grease trap associated VFAs that were tested. This includes the difficult to degrade branched VFAs, iosbutyric and isovaleric acid.

Table 1 – VFA Degradation Analysis of 7 Strains in GL200

BOD Reduction
The final step in the product development process was to test the ability of BIO GL200 to reduce Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) in actual grease trap waste. To perform this study, waste was collected from a grease trap and divided into two sub-samples. One sub-sample was treated with BIO GL200 and the other sample was left untreated. These two sub-samples were then monitored over a five-day period for changes in BOD. As demonstrated in Figure 3, BIO GL200 showed a significant reduction in BOD during the five-day study.

Summary
This Product Information Bulletin describes the development ofBIO GL200. The synergistic blend of seven bacterial strains in BIO GL200 was selected for the following complimentary abilities: superior lipase production, the ability to function under low pH, bio surfactant production, superior organic waste degradation, and odour reduction (specifically volatile fatty acids). This Study Bulletin also describes the methodology and thought process used at to develop efficacious products that solve real world problems. By understanding the issues associated with an application, and dealing with each issue using a systematic, scientific approach, we continue to develop unique biological products that work.
